- The bus direct to the airport arrived on time, and got us to the airport as intended. The route takes the state highway from Sorrento as far as the autostrada which then runs to Naples. The highway, if it can be called that, connects the villages along the Sorrento Peninsula (and is the same road which goes to Amalfi in the opposite direction). Romantically called the Corso Italia (the Italian Way, which we suspect refers to the style of driving, as well as the road itself), it is narrow and winds tortuously along (and sometimes through) the cliffs.
- So to Naples Capodichino Airport, and our Lufthansa flights to Munich then Heathrow. Stepping onto the plane from hot Italy into German coolness and efficiency was a bit of a culture shock.
- We arrived back home around 7pm, ready for Aperol Spritzes and antipasti down the pub - although the London Pride and steak and chips were a good substitute!
